Family Music Festival, Saturday and Sunday, August 30th and 31st:  This festival is a benefit event with proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity to help build houses and to the Andy Mackie Music Foundation for scholarships, purchasing instruments and providing music lessons for children.  We met Andy at the Shrimpfest last month in Brinnon.  What a delightful man and what an inspiration!  Despite his physical pain and problems he is devoting his life to give the gift of music to children.  With his music lessons and instrument building instructions comes the message that you can do anything.  If you learn to play on one string you can learn to play on three or more.  This is a philosophy that can be applied to many things you do in life.  Just start small and learn whatever you are doing well and then build on that to expand your knowledge, experience and abilities.  We feel compelled to support the work of this wonderful man and the very meaningful and helpful work of Habitat for Humanity.  Please come out to the Memorial Field in Port Townsend, Washington and support these worthwhile causes.

Northgate Festival, Saturday, September 6th:  We are looking forward to joining in the festivities and having a good time with some good friends at this one day festival in the Seattle area.  It is a privilege to help support their community.  There will be live entertainment, commercial and arts booths, a classic car show, and even a doggie fashion show.  It sounds like fun to us.  Don't miss it!  We will be at the Northgate Community Center at 10510 5th Avenue NE, Seattle, Washington.  Hours are from 9am to 7pm.

The Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival, October 11th & 12th:  Once again we plan to be in Port Angeles, Washington to celebrate our local heritage and the bounty of the sea. The weather has been delightful and we have had a great time at this intimate festival on our own Olympic Peninsula.  Come sample the seafood, enjoy the entertainment and join us on the Port Angeles pier. Hours are from 10am - 6pm on Saturday and from 10am - 5:30pm on Sunday.
